Netflix Addiction // The Documentaries

So, I'm going to start off on a rant and then we can get to the documentaries. Netflix have been total d-bags and blocked the use of VPN services. Basically this means that I can no longer pretend I'm in America and watch all the good stuff you Americans have compared to Britain. And yes I do understand why they've done this BUT if they aren't going to let me browse from America they can at least get more stuff on the British Netflix. Or, as I saw when clever person comment, charge different rates depending on how much there is available in your country. Raging.

But anyway enough of my ranting...let's get on with my top 5 documentaries you can watch on Netflix.

Iris
Now, when it comes to fashion I'm a big fan of black..on black..on black, but this documentary made even me want to wear colour! Iris Apfel is a 93 year old "geriatric starlet" when it comes to all things fashion. If IRIS doesn't inspire you to try new combinations, styles and colours then probably nothing will.

Louis Theroux
Louis Theroux is well known for exploring a wide variety of controversial topics in America. From prisons, to brothels and the Westboro Baptist church. Louis talks to people with some of the most extreme views and while he makes his opinion known he is never rude or obnoxious.

Frozen Planet
If I had to give you a two word reason why you should watch this it would be this: David Attenborough. For most of you I would hope this would be enough but for those of you who need more information.. Frozen Planet was filmed over years. It explores climate change and it's affect on the animals in the polar regions. The cinematography was beautiful and they captured some truly unique footage. I cannot recommend this enough.

Chelsea Does
Comedian Chelsea Handler explores a variety of topics in the series of 4 episodes. From marriage to drugs Chelsea covers topics from a variety of perspectives as well as giving her own unique and comical ideas.

Girl Rising
Girl Rising tells the unforgettable stories of nine young girls from the developing world. Viewers see the obstacles they have had to overcome to achieve their goals. Each story is narrated by a different person, passionate about the story the girl has to tell. A huge number of celebrities got behind this film and the impact of the film and ongoing campaign is incredible. The Girl Rising website is a must for anyone who cares about the right every girl has to an education.

Enjoy!
Let us know if you watch any of these documentaries or, if you have any suggestions then we would love to hear them too!
