I'm not one that tends to go for the high end products of make-up. Mainly because I can't afford it and think that spending a whopping £40 on foundation is a bit OTT.
However, last month I had quite a bit of my paycheck leftover so thought I'd just splurge and treat myself.
I hesitantly made my way to feelunique.com and went to the makeup section. And stayed there, because once make-up was in my basket I couldn't face looking at other beauty products that would burn an even bigger hole in my wallet.
1. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation 30ml £31.00
I got this in the shade Deauville (I think I'd buy it in a lighter shade next time) If I'm being honest I bought this purely because of all the amazing reviews youtubers and bloggers gave it. I love it. I took me a little bit of time to get used to the fact that every part of my face (blemishes and all) were being covered. I also did the make-up brush and make-up sponge test and recommend the make-up sponge. It seems to put a lot more coverage on your face and also seems to be applied a lot quicker.
2. Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup SPF 25 £26.50
What a mouthful of a title! This shade is Ivory - "I'm Pure 4 Sure". This was another one that I'd heard of through reviews. It also gives a full coverage but doesn't feel like your wearing any make-up. It feel light on the skin and you don't need a lot of it to cover your whole face. Again I recommend using a sponge to apply this. I think make-up sponges are my new love at the moment.
3. CID Cosmetics i-glow Compact Shimmer Powder Mini £16.00
This one is in the shade Ice Pop. I'll admit, it's very pigmented and you don't need a lot on your brush when applying it. It's a very pinky shade but I really like it. I think next time I might go for the shade Coral Crush as it has more dark pink and brown tones to it but I do really love the pink shade.
4. Stilla Kitten All Over Shimmer Duo £15.00
There is only one shade of this on the website so you take what you get with this one. I really like this as both colors aren't too bold, and the bronzer doesn't make me look orange. I never used to use highlighters and bronzers before because I honestly didn't think there was any point but actually I really love using them. They add that little bit more definition to you face and if used correctly can make your good features stand out more.
5. Benefit Instant Brow Pencil £16.50
I got this one in the shade medium. As I've said before, I'm an eyebrow pencil kind of girl. This pencil has quite a creamy consistency to it which is quite nice as it help keep your eyebrow hairs stay in the same direction and place all day. All also has a mascara type wand on the opposite end to brush those hairs into the right direction. I love when companies add the brush to the end of the pencil.
The only thing I will say is that I find the medium shade quite dark (for me anyway). My eyebrows are quite light so adding a color that's 10x darker than them can look quite odd on me. Will definitely go for the lighter shade if buying again.
If I'm being completely honest I thought this was a black mascara when I bought it. When I opened and saw that the liquid was clear my immediate thought was "Aw dangit, they've sent me the wrong color. I didn't order clear!" But upon further investigation noticed that what I had bought wasn't a mascara. Well, in some weird sense it's not a mascara. Basically, what this little tube of genius does is give a boost to your lashes and brings them back to life! You can put it on your lashes before applying mascara (which is what I tend to do) or put it on lashes that already have mascara on them. It separates each lash and coats them in this gel that make them look longer when your mascara is applied. I religiously wear this everyday and I can't recommend it enough! I've gone back to loving my eyelashes.
So, basically I love everything that I bought and would recommend it to everyone and anyone.
I'll definitely be buying more high end products (once these ones have run out).
What products have you been loving recently? Have you tried any of the products mentioned?
