BLOGMAS DAY 6 // Christmas Books

So today I thought we would start off by formally introducing you to the third member of the Simply Karah team. This is Butler (full name Domovoi Butler) some of you will be reading his name thinking "that's a kinda random name" but some of you will know the book series character he's named after. If this is you then you get a gold star! Comment down below if you know! Anyway the reason I'm introducing him to this post is because when I was writing and taking photos for this post he was "helping", as in knocking everything over, laying in books and chewing things he shouldn't be. So I thought we should introduce him since he clearly wants to be involved..

"But why can't I rip the paper chain into lots of little pieces?"

This one is a bit cheeky to put in because I haven't actually read it yet, but I will before Christmas. I have high hopes for this though, I love a bit of John Green!

This is cheesy and romantic and fabulous. Every year I buy a few cheap cheesy romantic Christmas books and most of them I read once and then donate. But this is one I've actually held on to because I enjoy reading it so much.

This is another collection of short stories, this time the author is Louisa May Alcott. It starts off with a festive snippet from Little Woman which is one of my favourite bits of the book. This is a little gem and I love the book cover too, there's a whole range of them and I kind of want to collect them all.

This is another one that I've kept and re-read. This one is so cute, and I've totally got a thing for the guy in this book (high fives to other people with way too many literary boyfriends!)

Yet another short story collection (Can you tell I've got a bit obsessed with short stories this year?). This one was set out like a meal, with different stories representing different parts of a giant Christmas feast. It's cheesy, Christmassy and all about love and relationships. Just what I like to read this time of year.

This is probably one of my favourite books ever, and definitely my favourite Christmas book. I read it every year. This book is based around an advent calendar, so everyday the little boy in the story opens another door in his calendar. I read a door a day and pretty much use it like an advent calendar. If you've never read this, give it a go!

These are two books which I still have (and read) that I've had since I was young. The Herald Angels was one of my favourites because as you read the book you also put together a little paper mobile that you can then hang up. At this point some of the pieces are a bit ripped and old but I still love it.
Jesus' Christmas Party is just a simple children's book describing the birth of Jesus and the events surrounding it. It's part of my Christmas tradition to read this.

So there we have it folks, some of the many books I read at Christmas time. There are tonnes I haven't included but I didn't want to make this a super long post.
