I'm back!! I'm just going to keep popping up around here because Kate is a bit of a bully (please don't hit me for that K). Like my big sister, I'm a big lipstick fan. Also like Kate, I need something that will stay all day because if I'm actually putting makeup on I'm either going to university, going out or really really bored. So I search for long lasting lip products and I have found some gems. However, I have also perfected the application process to maximise the staying power, if I do say so myself.
Step 1: Lip Base - I find that creating a base or stain on your lips means that even if the lipstick wear away there is an even tint left. You can do this with a lip liner or I find that the Maybelline lip crayons do a good job of this.
Step 2: Blot, blot and blot again - apply the lipstick/lip stain/lip lacquer and then blot it down with a tissue. Then re apply the product... and blot. I do this at least three times. Kate gets annoyed when I tell her to blot but seriously it works!! You end up with a stain built up and then a layer of product on top so it fades beautifully.
Step 3: Powder - this works best for matte products. Hold a tissue over your lips and load a brush up with powder and push it over the tissue. This effectively sets your lipstick like you would do with your foundation and concealer.
Try it out and let us know how you get on (do I sound like a Simplykarah member yet?)
