Autumn Bucket List

On one of my most recent Pinterest sessions I was looking at what collections people put in their bullet journals and one that I came across time and time again was an Autumn/Fall bucket list.
Now I love Autumn, in fact when you look up the official date for the start of Autumn it's my birthday. So that's my excuse for being so obsessed with a season. The idea of a Autumn bucket list really appealed to me but I didn't think it was something I wanted in my bullet journal. Instead I thought I would put my list here for you all to see!

Go on a chilly early morning walk

Have a fire in the garden with friends

Throw a pile of crispy autumn leaves in the air

Turn my room into an Autumnal haven

Take a day trip somewhere beautiful

Go stargazing

Find the perfect heeled boots

Take a day trip somewhere beautiful

So that's my list, I'm hoping that Bekah will be joining me for a lot of these because if she's there then it will be double the fun.

What would be on your Autumn bucket list?

BuJo Evolution // Monthly Trackers

Welcome to my last (for now) instalment of my Evolution of my Bullet Journal series. I thought I would finish off with my tracker evolution. I have a love hate relationship with my monthly tracker so I'm always striving to make it better.

To say I was optimistic in January would be an understatement. Look how many things I tried to track! Unbelievable. I also used dots which look so mega ugly. January was not a good month for the tracker.

In February I tracked a lot less and it was much more successful.

In April I have an example of an experiment that didn't go well. I tried to track tidying and failed miserably. But that's okay, in fact I'm really glad I gave it a go.

In May I got rid of the tidying tracker and everything else stayed the same.

The main change to July was the reorganisation of the order of which I put the things I tracked. I tried to arrange them so that they made more sense and were next to the ones which were connected.

So far I've not made any major changes to the tracker. My plan for October is to reduce the number of things I track. Stay tuned for my October set up video to see what stays and what goes!

How do you use your monthly tracker? Any advice?

Kylie Cosmetics | Review

About a month ago I decided to purchase a few items from Kylie Jenner's make up range Kylie Cosmetics. There had been a lot of great reviews about the company that I decided to test it out for myself.
I also grabbed a couple things for Kate for her birthday but didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to ruin any surprises.

Here's what I bought:
Kylie Lip Kits (Matte)

Candy K: This is a nude pink colour. Not my favorite but overall a very nice colour.

Koko K: I think this is my favorite. It's a deep pinky/red (maybe just on my skin tone) but can be dressed up or down. Love.

Maliboo: I was a little unsure of this colour to begin with but seem to be warming up to it. This is a nude. And when I say nude, I mean for people who are slightly more tanned than me, and I'm ghostly white.

Kyshadows

Creme Shadow Copper (Birthday Edition): Oh my goodness! Creme shadow goals. It's so pigmented and bronze and just gorge!

Creme Shadow Rose Gold (Birthday Edition): Again, the colour with these creme shadows are AMAZING! Very pigmented. Pretty pink, but I really like it.

Overall, my experience with Kylie Cosmetics was pretty good. However, I don't know if it's for all countries outside of America or just the UK but I had to pay two custom fees (because I bought the items in two separate go's). They were both just over £20. So add that on top of your £80 bill from the company and you've racked up a pretty hefty bill. Having said that, the products are really good. The lipsticks stay on all day and the eye shadow's are just beautiful.

Have you tried Kylie Cosmetics?

BuJo Evolution // Dailies

Another post from my "Evolution of my Bullet Journal" series. This week I'm looking at my dailies. When I first started my bullet journal I didn't have a clue how I wanted my dailies to look, so for the first few months I tried out different designs sand different ways of organising my day to day life.

January

I started off in January tracking the weather and the high and low temperatures of the day. This was a chore and I didn't really care about it so it didn't last long. I also used the squares and circles to highlight tasks and events but I definitely made them a tad big!

Healthy Snacks // Eating on the Go

So as Bekah said in her post last week myself and three of my friends recently got back from Romania and decided that we never wanted to see bread ever again and made a pact to go on a diet together. So far, it's actually going pretty well.

My main problem with staying healthy is that a lot of the time I don't know where I will be during meal times or what time I'll be able to eat at. So I just end up nipping to a shop and buying some unhealthy snacks or a take away to tide me over. Not great.

So on a recent trip to Tesco I tried to pick up some foods I could use as substitutes for my normal unhealthy snacks. I tried to find things which were healthy, didn't require much preparation, didn't need to be kept in the fridge and  weren't crazy expensive.  And today I thought I would show you guys what I bought.
Please bare in mind that I am in no way shape or form knowledgeable about nutrition or other such things. These are my opinions so if they are wrong or you disagree then that's fine, feel free to kindly point them out to me!

Autumn | The Candles {HAUL}

I have an addiction. An addiction to candles.
In fact, Kate and I have an addiction to candles. It's pretty normal to have that addiction right? RIGHT!
I went on a candle splurge a couple nights ago and have been waiting patiently for them to arrive so I can smell all their goodness (side note: I went on a candle splurge because Kate went on a candle splurge, she's a great influence).
I bought all these candles from a company called 'Our Own Candle Company' which we stumbled upon in St. Andrews a couple years back. And have decided to do a little collective haul on what I got.

BuJo Evolution // Weeklies

How have my weekly spreads changed over the past 9 months? Let's find out.

I started doing weekly spreads at the end of February this year. The idea was to have a column of events and a column of to do's as well as lists of to do's with no particular day attached on the other side of the spread. I love the added organisation a weekly spread has added to my bullet journal.

How-To | Editing Instagram Photo's

This post is basically about how I edit my Instagram photos.
What apps I use and if I have a theme how it comes about.

I like Instagram. I like being able to see other people photos from around the world. I love landscape photos that show the beauty of the earth or amazingly edited photos of other people...or sparklers/fairy lights. I LOVE fairy lights.
I post pretty regularly. Most photos are from my phone and some from my camera. I really enjoy editing them and playing about till I can get them looking the way I want.

What I'm Currently Reading

Usually when I do these blog posts I have a myriad of fictional books to tell you all about.
Today is different. Since finishing my studies I thought I was enjoying the lack of constant journal reading and textbook studying. My brain, however, seems to disagree. In the last month every single book I've been drawn to read has been non-fiction. Clearly my brain wants to learn stuff, and who am I to say no!

Health Changing Apps

Recently, Kate and three of our friends decided it would be a great idea to go on a diet. To be fair, they had all just been in Romania and had fatty, starchy and carby foods. Anyone would feel groggy after having those types of foods for two weeks.
However, it seems to be radiating onto me too. As much as I was ok eating a greasy pizza in front of them - laughing at them all, on the inside, because they can't taste how good it is - I seem to be checking calories for everything I'm about to eat.

Not cool.

I was perfectly happy not caring about what I ate, not exercising and then moaning about my flab. But I, now, really want to be a lot more healthy. And it's actually pretty good that everyone in our friendship group is on a diet. It means no one can be tempted by what someone else is eating.

I need motivation and am constantly on my phone. So, it's best if I have apps that I can click into that will help me along the way and I thought I'd share said apps with you guys!

BuJo Evolution // Monthly Layouts

I thought today it would be interesting to see how my bullet journal has evolved over the past 9 months. As I've used it and adapted it to suit my needs I've obviously changed things here and there.
So here we go from January to September. 9 months of monthly layouts. Let's see how things have changed.

January - March

This Is Scotland | Culross & Kinnoull Tower

A while ago, my friends and I explored a little part of Scotland. We went to this place in Fife called Culross, a quaint little town along the coast, and then headed to a place in Perth called Kinnoull Tower.
I had completely forgotten about this place till I was scrolling through pictures on my computer and thought the places were too nice not to share with you guys.
Hope you enjoy!

The Problems with Wearing All Black

So if you know me then you'll know I like to wear black. If at all possible I like to wear all black. But wearing black comes with a whole host of problems and I'm going to let you know/moan to you all now.

The Role of a Nurse | My Perspective

Sometimes I feel that my role as a nurse is pretty under looked by the public eye.
Many people who have never been in hospital or who have never had a friend or relative in hospital just assume that our role is to wash and dress patients and fetch them cups of tea. As much as we do this - daily! - our role consists of so much more. A lot more than the average person seems to think.

BuJo // September Set Up

My goodness, how on earth did it get to be September already? This year has gone crazy quick!
No major changes this month but we are back to our usual full layout rather than last months reduced spreads. It feels good to be back to normality.

No changes for September's monthly layout. Why change it if it's working as is?
