This Is Scotland // Linlithgow Loch

Now as most of you will have gathered by now, I've not been in the country much recently but when I was going through all the photos I've taken on my travels I came across these beauties from an evening walk I took back in July. I love so many of the photos that I decided I may as well show you guys. They're all taken round or near by a loch in a town called Linlithgow in West Lothian, in the distance in a few photos you can see Linlithgow Palace and the spire of St Michaels Church.

White Choc & Raspberry Muffins

The other day I was in a serious baking mood. I had also went strawberry and raspberry picking so needed a nice way of using my freshly picked fruit rather than let them mould over time.
So, I thought I'd make some white chocolate and raspberry muffins.

How-To | Pack a Carry-On Suitcase

If you haven't guessed from the massive hints Kate and I have been giving you, we're heading to Amsterdam...tomorrow!

I'M SO EXCITED

However, this is the first time I'm traveling with carry-on luggage only. Also, easyJet, why are we not allowed a personal item as well as cabin baggage? It makes packing so much harder!
Anyway. I decided to take to the internet and get tips on the best way to pack carry-on luggage and I have decided to share these wonderful "life hacks" with you.

Book Review // A Very Special Year by Thomas Montasser

So avid readers of this blog will remember a couple of weeks back I posted a book haul post. A Very Special Year by Thomas Montasser was one of those books and having finished it I thought I would tell you guys what I thought.

Height Restricted Shopping | A Simple Guide

By the title of this post you're probably thinking "what the heck is this all about". No, it's not going to shops that have a height restriction to get in.
This post is a simple guide to shopping for those who are shorter in size than the "average" person.
(I really just thought the title was funny. It's probably not funny)

I'm 5ft2" and sometimes I find shopping extremely hard. I don't have the perfect body (but then who does). I have a large chest, wide hips, broad shoulders, and little legs (with chubby thighs). And yes, I may have just picked out what I think are my flaws but I'm learning to embrace it and love me for who I am - such cheese!
As it can be quite a challenge finding things that fit well for us smaller ladies I feel like some wisdom needs to be imparted. And I, of all people, thought I'd use this platform to impart my knowledge when it comes to shopping.

Collections #3 // Bullet Journal

As you may have gathered by now I have been trying to save money this year.
I made saving goals for a number of areas and put them into a bullet journal spread so I could track them more easily. As you can see some areas have been more successful than others!

Book Review // I Call Myself A Feminist

The Back of the Book
Young feminists - whether you call yourself one or not - this book is for you.
The view from twenty-five women under thirty.

Rating
4/5

Review
It was amazing to here woman from all different backgrounds and beliefs give the reasons why they call themselves a feminist. Some of the opinions I didn't agree with and some I did. But I think it's equally as important to learn about the things you don't agree with as well as the ones you do agree with.

Favourite Quote
"I only knew that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat"

Have you read this book? What did you think?

Oh Hi There!

For a while now both Kate and I have been debating whether to post this or not.
Separately.
Neither of us knew each other were thinking about it.

SHOWING FACE

No, this isn't a "This is what we look like", "Let's show everyone our faces" post.
We want to move forward with the blog and we feel that this is the first step in doing that.

Here's why we haven't "shown face."
We started this blog as something just for fun. Over time we've grown to completely love and cherish the blog and it's become more of a hobby.
We also started it to do something that was for us and not really for anyone else. We didn't tell friends or family that we had a blog because we wanted to see if we could get positive feedback from people we didn't know. Most of our friends and family now know about the blog and they're pretty happy and proud of us for starting it.
With the direction we want to head in and the future posts we want to write we need/want to show our faces.

(on the left is Bekah, on the right is Kate)

So there we have it.

HELLO.

How-to | Survive Summer: Dresses

I'm not a massive fan of wearing dresses, full stop. Mainly because I can NEVER find dresses that I think actually look nice on me. Or when I try a dress on I feel it makes me look too "dressed up".
This month I'm going to Amsterdam and if the weathers nice I'd really like to be able to get away with a casual dress and trainers or chelsea boots.
So, I've trolled through the shops to find dresses that I think would be perfect for us girls who just want that perfect casual dress.

I'm the ultimate lover of stripes!

Sweat style dresses are always good for Summer. They're thin material and extremely comfy.

Pinafores or dungarees are in this Summer and can be styled in so many different ways. CUTE.

Bardot tops and dresses have been super trendy this Summer and I'm completely loving them!

Pops of color for the Summer

For the more girly girls out there. The pastel pink is GORGEOUS!

Floral and off the shoulder, cute.

Ah, my safe haven. Stripes.

Super cute, and they come in a range of colors/patterns if you aren't keen on this one.

A bit on the pricey side but Millie's are just so darn cute!

Hopefully this was even a little helpful for trying to find that perfect summer dress.

TGIF // Friday Favourites

First off I would like to apologise for the awful quality of these photos. I used my good camera but the battery was crazy low and I think that screwed it up. I'm pre writing blogs for when I go away for a month and re-taking photos is not really an option. Sorry!

I love love love this bag from Dorothy Perkins, it's the perfect black bucket bag. The clasp at the bottom of the bag lets the strap slide easily out and lengthen without messing about with pulling material through a buckle.

So everyone always says I'm a hat person, and I don't disagree BUT I hardly ever wear hats because I feel over dressed when I do. But as I'm going away to Romania for a missions trip to do a lot of outdoor work I needed a hat, and I just don't feel like I pull of a cap. This was the ultimate cheap and foldable hat option. It was from the Dorothy Perkins sale and I kind of love it.

These shoes from Boohoo are my absolute saviour. Finally black shoes that are mega comfy. It's real love.

So this is the point where the camera quality takes a nose dive. I had a lot of waiting around to do the other day and I picked this up to read. The articles are so varied that if one isn't to your taste the next will.

I am ashamed to say that I am utterly obsessed with DoDo Pop on my phone AND my laptop. I'm currently stuck on level 95 on both devices. Someone help me!

What are your current obsessions?

Canada Vacation | Toronto

I recently just came back from holiday and I'm missing Canada so much.
The weather was AMAZING, the views were GORGEOUS, everyone is so polite over there, and I miss being able to go outside with shorts on and having all meals outside in the sun. It's just bliss.
But now I'm back in dreary Scotland. I love this country but I wish the sun would make an appearance more often.

So, I have a few photo's of my time in Toronto and a lil' vlog I made for y'all.
And I really hope you enjoy it!

We'd love to see your holiday pictures from this Summer!
