How-To | Save Your Skin

I am a sufferer of dry, spotty skin. I'm prone to breakouts and redness. It can drive you insane. In all honesty, I'm not as kind to my skin as I think.
This year I have decided that I am going to look after my skin. Do those things that I really can't be bothered doing.
Here are my tips:

Moisturize
Moisturize before you go to bed. Before you put on your makeup. If you wear a primer with your makeup but don't moisturize try it instead. My skin has been so good recently and it's because I'm getting into the habit of moisturizing.

Wash Your Face
I feel this is crazy obvious but when I say wash your face I mean, take your makeup off at night. I am the absolute worst at taking makeup off at night because effort but, again, if you build a habit of taking it off at night it starts to become routine and you'll thank yourself for it.

Wear Less Makeup
I love makeup. Not because I'm obsessed with how I look but because I love experimenting. Recently, I started thinking why I wore foundation, mascara, eyebrow gel, blusher, etc. to work. I'm a nurse so yes, we have to look presentable but you don't want to look that "dolled up". I took it upon myself to put a little moisturizer on, some powder and mascara, because I NEED my mascara.
However, if you feel "naked" or it would make you feel more comfortable to wear makeup, try and substitute your foundation for a BB or CC cream or a tinted moisturizer. Something that'll be just that little bit kinder to your skin.

Drink Plenty
Of water. Keep yourself hydrated. It'll keep your skin moisturized too.
You'll notice a difference.

Sleep
Have a proper sleep. A solid 8 hours. You won't wake up with bags under your eyes - score! It'll also make you feel up to actually doing all of the above.

Do you have any other tips for saving your skin?

Healthy Snacks // Eating on the Go

So as Bekah said in her post last week myself and three of my friends recently got back from Romania and decided that we never wanted to see bread ever again and made a pact to go on a diet together. So far, it's actually going pretty well.

My main problem with staying healthy is that a lot of the time I don't know where I will be during meal times or what time I'll be able to eat at. So I just end up nipping to a shop and buying some unhealthy snacks or a take away to tide me over. Not great.

So on a recent trip to Tesco I tried to pick up some foods I could use as substitutes for my normal unhealthy snacks. I tried to find things which were healthy, didn't require much preparation, didn't need to be kept in the fridge and  weren't crazy expensive.  And today I thought I would show you guys what I bought.
Please bare in mind that I am in no way shape or form knowledgeable about nutrition or other such things. These are my opinions so if they are wrong or you disagree then that's fine, feel free to kindly point them out to me!

Health Changing Apps

Recently, Kate and three of our friends decided it would be a great idea to go on a diet. To be fair, they had all just been in Romania and had fatty, starchy and carby foods. Anyone would feel groggy after having those types of foods for two weeks.
However, it seems to be radiating onto me too. As much as I was ok eating a greasy pizza in front of them - laughing at them all, on the inside, because they can't taste how good it is - I seem to be checking calories for everything I'm about to eat.

Not cool.

I was perfectly happy not caring about what I ate, not exercising and then moaning about my flab. But I, now, really want to be a lot more healthy. And it's actually pretty good that everyone in our friendship group is on a diet. It means no one can be tempted by what someone else is eating.

I need motivation and am constantly on my phone. So, it's best if I have apps that I can click into that will help me along the way and I thought I'd share said apps with you guys!
