How-To | Pack a Carry-On Suitcase

If you haven't guessed from the massive hints Kate and I have been giving you, we're heading to Amsterdam...tomorrow!

I'M SO EXCITED

However, this is the first time I'm traveling with carry-on luggage only. Also, easyJet, why are we not allowed a personal item as well as cabin baggage? It makes packing so much harder!
Anyway. I decided to take to the internet and get tips on the best way to pack carry-on luggage and I have decided to share these wonderful "life hacks" with you.

1. Packing Cubes
What is the odd phrase I hear you say? Packing. Cubes.
These things are GENIUS! Whoever invented them, I love you. They keep all your clothes, toiletries, electronics, or whatever you want, separate and organized. It also means that if you're looking for a pair of jeans, you're not searching all the way to the bottom of your suitcase or chucking everything out and making a massive mess. I also think that it saves so much room in your suitcase.
These ones are from Ikea. I think they were £5 if you have an Ikea Family Card, £10 if not.

2. Decide Your Outfits
I'm not great at this because on the day I decide I don't want to wear that specific outfit anymore or that I want to change half way through the day. So, it might seem like I've gone a little overboard with my outfits but I know what I'm like and it's healthy for me to have multiple options.

3. Make a List
I love lists. I make them for everything. If I don't make a list then chances are I'll completely forget something. Once I make a list I go over and think do I really need that? If the answer is no then it gets scored off and I don't take it.
4. Hotels
If you're staying in a hotel then chances are they'll have things like soap, towels and a hairdryer. If you're staying in an extremely fancy hotel then they'll probably have extra luxuries. Which means you've just saved yourself some luggage space.
If you're not staying at a hotel then chances are you'll need to take these luxuries with you.
Handy Tip: if you're traveling with friends or family then compromise. Do you all need to take a hairdryer, straighteners, shampoo, body wash? Nope. Divi up the luxuries between you.

And that's about it. Remember; if you're traveling with carry-on only you're limited with your liquids and that they must fit in a certain sized ziplock bag (these are provided by most airports).

Have you got anymore tips on how to pack carry on luggage?
